Music of the day

These girls are absolutely incredible!

Don't they make you wish you could sing? Well, if you're me, they do...
because I can't sing to save my life.

This song put me in such a good mood this morning as I was sitting listening to it at the cafĂ© while studying for my LAST FINAL OF COLLEGE!
...sorry, had to throw that in there :)

Have an awesome Saturday, everyone - the next time you hear from me I'll be a college graduate!

Heart-shaped teabags

I love this project

It inspired me to make these heart-shaped tea bags as gifts for girlfriends of mine!
First, take your favorite loose leaf tea, and then all you need is:
Coffee filters, Scissors, Sewing machine, Stapler, Embroidery thread, Paper for tags (construction paper, old book pages, etc.), and (optional): Spices (pumpkin pie spice, cinnamon, ground ginger, etc.)

Rice bowl

This is my attempt at asian comfort food. A rice bowl filled with:
-jasmine rice in a coconut milk, ginger, and garlic sauce
-steamed broccoli
-fresh tomatoes
-chilled cucumbers
-pickeled onions
-a poached egg
-shrimp
The best thing about it? The comforting combination of steaming coconut rice and a poached egg.

Try out your own version of a rice bowl, or if you're not in the mood to cook, go to the Jasmine Orchid (a restaraunt on Washington Ave and Oak Street near the U of M campus) and order the broken rice plate. The standard broken rice plate comes with delicious charbroiled beef, chicken, shrimp, or pork served over lots of steamed jasmine rice with a fresh salad and a vinaigrette sauce.

You can check out their menu, here.

Painted pots

With Mother's Day around the corner, I've been scouring my favorite blogs for the perfect DIY gift idea for my wonderful mother (sorry to give it away if you're reading this, Mom!)

This one might be it:

I absolutely LOVE these easy and adorable Color block terra cotta pots done by
A Beautiful Mess.

Vino

Who doesn't love wine?

That was a dumb question. The real question is, who doesn't love Wine perfume by Kelly and Jones?

Don't be too quick to judge. Undertones of Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Cabernet, Merlot, and Chardonnay are surprisingly pleasant inspirations for these genious scents.

I think I'd be a Sauvignon Blanc. Crisp and refreshing.
...or maybe a Riesling (floral and sweet)?

Either way, you know what to get me for my birthday.
